Welcome to NW CanCon, the ultimate source for information about Canadian bands and musicians performing in the Pacific Northwest.
A Canadian expat, I’ve been in the U.S. since 2002. I love living in Portland. But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss certain things about Canada … HNIC, Tim’s, Loonies, and Canadian music, to name a few. I can’t do much about the first three of these, but Canadian musicians regularly travel to these parts. Unless you’re paying attention, though, it’s easy—too easy—to not hear about a concert date until too late.
No more! This site will (to the best of my ability) keep up-to-date listings of Canadian bands and musicians playing in Portland, Seattle, or anywhere else in Washington or Oregon. We’ll also try to bring you news on the comings and goings of Canadian artists, and links to other organizations/news/sites of value to Canadians.
What if you’re not Canadian? No problem! We love you too. Check out the great music emanating from the Great White North. You might be surprised how pervasive the Canadian influence is down here.
Please feel free to email me with tips on upcoming shows, corrections, or anything else that needs my attention.

Hi Matthew. Welcome. John P. (aka Mr. Zero) sent me the link to your website and I already like it. My mission, although they’re slightly reluctant, is to get The Kings here to the west coast (aka the “other coast” or is it the “left coast” in Great White parlance?). Anyway, I’m crazy ’bout those Canadian lads, in fact, I even went to Oakville last summer just to see ‘em. And that’s about the craziest thing I’ve done in at least a decade. Anyway, here’s my story, and if you ever hear rumor of anyone else trying to figure out a way to get them here, count me in for whatever horsepower I can add. Best, Kent.
Here’s a little saga of my trip to Ontario that I shared with our local KINK radio station:

or go to http://www.kink.fm (it’s a radio station), go to Dave Scott’s blog, and then scroll down to “Meet the band that ushers in your weekend every Friday aft”.

Matt! I didn’t realize how many Canadian bands I’d *forgotten* until I started scanning your list.
Tea Party! The New Pornographers! I’ve never forgotten The Hip, but it still loved hearing their stuff again.
Thanks for putting this site together. I’ll share it far and wide (well… within the Northwest anyway).
